Twenty-three years in real estate have taught me something important: Experience is valuable, but only if you're willing to keep learning.
When I began my real estate career, the way we marketed homes, communicated with clients, and researched properties looked very different from today. Over the years, I've watched markets rise and fall, technology transform our industry, and buyers and sellers adjust to an ever-changing real estate landscape. And through it all, one lesson has remained constant:
Never stop learning. Never assume you know it all.
I've always believed that staying informed isn't optional when people are trusting you with one of the most important financial decisions of their lives. Whether it's understanding changing market conditions, learning new technology, or keeping up with industry regulations, I believe my clients deserve someone who continues to grow professionally.
After 23 years, I still find myself learning something new. And that's a good thing!
Staying sharp isn't about knowing everything. It's about being willing to learn what you don't know. Because experience may open doors, but knowledge, preparation, and a willingness to adapt help us serve others better.
That's Lesson #1: Stay Sharp.
Next Monday: Lesson #2 — Trust Wisely.
